Celebrating their tenth edition, Peelbergen proudly hosted the selection days for the Young Riders Academy, welcoming eighteen promising riders aged between 18 and 23 from twelve countries. On March 11th and 12th, our venue provided the perfect backdrop for these young talents to showcase their skills and fight for a spot on the 2024 YRA Team.
“The thrill of witnessing these athletes’ growth and accomplishments, including numerous medals and performances at the YR European Championships, along with several riders proudly representing their countries at the Senior Championships from 2017 to 2023 – earning not only participation but also medals – fills us with pride.”
The selection days were overseen by legends of the sport, including Otto Becker, Jean Maurice Bonneau, Jeroen Dubbeldam, and Emile Hendrix, who assessed the riders, offering them a unique opportunity to learn from the best in the industry.
At Peelbergen, we take great pride in supporting the development of young riders and fostering their journey to becoming the professionals of the future. Collaborating with the Young Riders Academy aligns perfectly with our vision, and we are grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a prestigious program.
“We are thrilled to witness the evolution and growth of these aspiring athletes. Over the past four editions, Peelbergen has had the honor of hosting the Young Riders Academy selections and clinics. It’s truly remarkable to see how the level of these young riders improves year after year, and we are committed to providing them with the ideal professional environment to thrive.” says Peelbergen Managing Director Ken Ruysen.
As the selection process concludes, we await the announcement of the final 2024 team by the end of the month. The first clinic with Frank Sloothaak is set to take place at Peelbergen on April 15th and 16th, marking the beginning of an exciting journey for the selected riders.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Young Riders Academy for their outstanding work and dedication to nurturing young talent. Together, we look forward to witnessing the success of these riders as they grow into the top riders of the future.
